Shane Buggle

Independent Non-Executive Director, Heartland Bank (Australia)

Shane was appointed to the Board on 30 April 2024.  He chairs the Heartland Bank Australia Audit Committee and Risk Committee and is a member of the People, Remuneration and Nominations Committee.  He is also a member of the Heartland Group Sustainability Committee.

A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and Chartered Accountants Ireland, Shane has more than 35 years of experience in financial services, accounting and risk management. During a 24-year career with ANZ Banking Group, he held a number of senior executive positions, including Group Chief Financial Officer, Group General Manager Internal Audit, Deputy Group Chief Financial Officer, Chief Financial Officer Institutional, and Chief Financial Officer Australia. Shane also held senior leadership roles with Zurich Financial Services and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He currently serves as a Director of Bupa ANZ Insurance, Bupa ANZ Healthcare, Bupa Aged Care Australia and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
